Texarkana, TX – August 4, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins looked to sweep this series against the Generals but had a rough 3rd inning turing to the bull pen a lot sooner than expected. The Twins attempt to come back in the 7th but come up short.

The Generals jump out early on the Twins scoring two in the first inning. The Twins answer back quickly in the bottom of the 1st when Cam Hill earned a walk and then stole 2nd. Coltyn Kessler grounded out to move Hill to 3rd base. With one out Jaylon Keys grounded out to score Hill. This cut the Generals lead in half making the score 2-1.

The Twins ran into the most trouble in the 3rd inning when the ball club gave up 6 runs to give the Generals a 8-1 lead. The score remained the same throughout the 6th inning. In the bottom of the 7th the Twins decided to put some runs on the board. Matt McDonald started the 7th off with a single and then stole 2nd base. Avery George puts the ball in play to move McDonald to 3rd base. Hunter Church and Coltyn Kessler get a pair of walks to load the bases up. Jaylon Keys hits a shot to right center field clearing the bases earning a double. This cut the Generals lead in half yet again at 8-4.

The Generals added one more run in the top of the 9th to give them a 9-4 lead which gives us our final score of the ball game. The Twins dug themselves a hole early on and could not completely recover. With this, the Twins also retired their starting pitcher earlier than planned making the Twins struggle in the last game of the regular season.

The conclusion of this series against the Victoria Generals will end regular season play. The Twins will begin playoffs later this week as they take on the Victoria Generals on the road August 8th for the chance to play in the TCL Championship.
