Twins Fall to Bombers in Series OpenerCollege Station/Bryan, TX – July 8, 2018 – The Twins came up short in the series opener against the Brazos Valley Bombers, falling 7-3 in the road matchup. The game was close until the 5th inning, when the Bombers scored 5 runs. The Twins jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over the Bombers, scoring a run off a Dylan Ditzenberger RBI single scoring Jalynn Keyes. The Bombers would then respond with two runs in the 4th inning to briefly take the lead. The Twins would then respond in the top half of the fifth with a run scored by Keyes on a wild pitch to tie the game at 2. The bottom of the fifth inning was the difference in tonight’s game. The Bombers were able to retake the lead, scoring five runs in the inning, including a three run home run by TCL home run leader Christian Sepulveda, giving the home team a 7-2 lead. The Twins would respond with another run in the 7th Jalynn Keyes singled home Caleb Lassaigne, but could not complete the rally, ending the scoring at 7-3. The Twins finish the road series against the Bombers before heading back to Texarkana for four games against the Acadiana Cane Cutters at George Dobson Field.
