Twins Drop Series Finale Against Cane CuttersYoungsville, LA – July 1, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins dropped both games in the two-game series in Youngsville, Louisiana against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. This loss brings the Twins to a six-game losing streak. The Cane Cutters jumped out on top quickly in the 2nd inning making the score 2-0. In the 3rd they doubled their lead. In the 4th they pushed their lead even further making it 7-0, giving the Twins a lot of ground to make up. In the 7th inning the Twins finally were able to punch through and score two off of a pair of hits from Hunter Southerland and Matthew McDonald, narrowing the gap to 7-2. The Cane Cutters and the Twins were silent for the rest of the game making 7-2 your final score. The Cane Cutters did out hit the Twins, but not by much. The Twins had 6 hits on the night and the Cane Cutters had 9 hits on the night. The Cane Cutters made timely key hits during the game and executed base running more effectively throughout the night. The Twins do not play again until July 6th due to the All-Star break. After the break, the Twins will go on a four-game road trip, first to Victoria, Texas to play the Generals and then to Bryan, Texas to face the Brazos Valley Bombers.
