Twins Drop Opener in LouisianaYoungsville, LA – May 31, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins dropped another close game on the road, as they fell to the Acadiana Cane Cutters 8-7. This marks the second game in a row in which the Twins held a lead heading into the later innings before losing on a walk off. The Cane Cutters got off to a fast start, scoring the first run of the game in the second inning of tonight’s game. However, the Twins would strike back in their half of the third inning, when they scored a pair off of the Cane Cutter pitchers. The Twins would then double their run total in the fourth, when they added another two runs. The game remained 4-1 until the Twins again scored a couple of runs in the 7th inning to jump out to a 6-1 lead. The momentum of the game switched in the 8th inning when Acadiana scored two runs off the Twins bullpen to cut the lead down to 6-3. The Twins added an insurance run in the 9th inning to try and close the game out with a 7-3 lead. However, Acadiana was able to continue to punish the Twins bullpen and came back to earn the walk-off victory, the second consecutive game the Twins lost on the road in such manner. The Twins remain on the road to finish up the two-game series against Acadiana tomorrow night. The Twins will return to Texarkana on June 6th to take on the Texas Marshalls.
