Texarkana Twins Add Three from Seminole State CollegeTexarkana, USA – April 27, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins are excited to announce the addition of three players from Seminole State College, Gunner Halter, Ross Messina, and Jacob Bailey. They will join their Seminole State teammate, pitcher Colby Adkins in Texarkana this summer. Gunner Halter is a Sophomore for Seminole State and has consistently been one of the team’s best hitters during 2018. Halter returns to the Twins looking to build on a 2017 TCL season that saw him hit .279 with a home run and 14 RBIs, while leading the Twins with 15 stolen bases. In 2018, Halter has hit a team leading 14 home runs for Seminole State to pair with a .380 average and 27 stolen bases. Sophomore teammate Ross Messina is also having a strong 2018 season for Seminole State. On the year, Messina is hitting .361 with 2 home runs and 29 RBIs, while also showcasing his speed with 9 stolen bases. Freshman Jacob Bailey has been one of the best arms for Seminole State College this season. His 51 innings of work rank second on the team and he has pitched to a 5-1 record and a 2.65 ERA. Opponents are having a hard time hitting the ball as his WHIP is just over 1 and he averages 11.47 strikeouts per nine innings.
