Twins Add Three to Roster As Season Opener Approaches

Texarkana, USA (May 6, 2017)- The Texarkana Twins are excited to announce that they have added Kyle Bottger, Johnny Gonzales and Chris Wooley to the roster.


The home opener is less than three weeks away for the Twins as they host the Victoria Generals at historic George Dobson Field on Friday, May 26th.


Chris Wooley is in his freshman year at Murray State College. The lefty has done a little bit of everything for the Aggies as he has played the field and pitched. Wooley has six appearances on the mounds and has a 2-0 record in 14 innings pitched. His two wins came in a four-game series against Ellsworth. The Prosper, Texas native has 10 at-bats with six walks, scored five runs and has an RBI single.


Johnny Gonzales also offers versatility as he has played the outfield and pitched for Cisco Junior College this season. The redshirt freshman has played 45 games in the field and has produced a .297 batting average with 4 homeruns and 29 RBI. Gonzales has scored 29 runs, stole two bases and has a .358 on-base percentage. Gonzales has pitched just one inning this year and gave up a hit and a run. Gonzales is from Frisco, Texas.


Kyle Bottger is in his first season at Southeast Missouri after spending the previous two seasons at North Central Texas. Bottger batted .338 in his last year at North Central Texas and scored 24 runs while knocking in 35. Bottger has started 35 games this season at shortstop for the Redhawks and has compiled a .226 batting average with two home runs, 14 runs scored and 14 RBIs.
