Twins leave 10 men on base in loss to GeneralsTexarkana, USA – June 24, 2019 – Texarkana Twins lose to the Victoria Generals in the first of two games in Victoria. Tom Litchy has another RBI and Blake Shannon goes 2-3 in the 6-2 loss. The Twins were able to score first in the game in the top of the fourth inning. Lee Thomas was able to come in to score after a wild pitch by the Generals, putting the Twins up 1-0. The Generals answered back in the bottom of the fourth with RBI hits by Jordan Johnson and Johnthan Tapia to go 4-1. Shea Gutierrez hit a double with one out in the top of the fifth inning. Then Tom Litchy came up to the plate. Litchy hit a single up the middle, and Gutierrez was able to score from second putting the Twins only down two runs. The story of the night for the Twins was that they left 10 different players on the base pads. This is the third time this year they have left double-digit base runners on base in a single game. Blake Shannon was a bright spot as he was able to 2-3 with a walk as the 8th batter. On the mound, Joseph Standley came into the 8th inning and had 2 strikeouts and did not allow run putting his ERA on the year at .000. The next time the Twins are at home is Friday, June 28th against the Brazos Valley Bombers. They are back in action again tomorrow night in Victoria against the Generals and then the Twins get a well-deserved rest before they take on the Bombers.
