Twins pitching shines in 3-0 victory over Cane Cutters

Texarkana, USA – June 9, 2019 – Twins beat Cane Cutters and throw the first shut out of the year. Braydon Credeur gets the win after coming in relieve in the second inning, and Standley gets his second save of the year.

Tonight was all about pitching for the Twins. Braydon Credeur came into relief during the second inning with two outs and bases loaded. He did not leave the game until the 9th inning. He had seven strikeouts on the night and allowed 3 hits with no walks. This brings his ERA on the year to .77. Joseph Standley came out in the 9th inning to shut down the Cane Cutters. He struck out two of the three batters getting his second save of the year.

Hitting tonight the bright spot was Reese Durand. Durand was 3-4 on the night with double and two singles. This also brings Durand’s batting average to .385 on the year, an OPS of 1.171, and OBP is .556. Steven Bonus came up to bat with 2 out in the bottom of the eighth and men on first and second. He hit a ball in the gap between the first and second baseman to bring in both of the runners. This put the Twins up 3-0 to give them some cushion headed into the top of the 9th.

This was the Twins first win of the season against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. This was the first shut out of the year for the Twins as they look to continue this play as they play here at home again against the Brazos Valley Bombers.
